The search facility for The XML Cover Pages at http://xml.coverpages.org/search is experimental only. Since the implementation is only partial, it may return inaccurate, misleading, incomplete, improperly contextualized, or otherwise infelicitous results. Observe in particular these cautions and limitations:
- the index may not be current
- not all web site information is indexed: most "HTML" documents are currently indexed, but PDF, Postscript, MSWord (.DOC, .RTF) and other formats are not. Also not indexed: documents of any kind if compressed (.ZIP, .gz, etc.)
- a cached document might not display the URL for its canonical home, whereas the document(s) containing a link to a cached document always reference the canonical source URL at the citation locus
- documents accessed from a hit list frequently lack other important contextual clues relevant to their significance within the database hierarchy
- a cached document might provide less information about authorship and date than the text within which the document is referenced; full attribution is provided within the referencing document
- the general warnings, caveats, and disclaimers apply
