Customer Identity / Name and Address Markup Language (CIML, NAML)

[May 15, 2000] Company description: "Standards. MasterSoft International is a recognised leader in Solutions for Customer Information Quality Management. With its expertise in this area for over a decade dealing with a large customer base, MasterSoft has recently developed two open industry standard specification languages based on eXtensible Markup Language (XML) for Customer Information Quality Management. The two languages are: (1) Name and Address Markup Language (NAML), (2) Customer Identity Markup Language (CIML). NAML is specific for name and address data management which is a crucial entity of customer information/data. CIML deals with customer data in general involving name and address plus other customer centric data such as date of birth, SSN, telephone numbers, e-mails, URLs, etc. that helps to identify a unique customer. Given the explosion of e-business over the internet and as a result the importance of CRM on the internet, we strongly believe that these two standards will play a significant role in the standardisation and management of customer data on the internet and in organisations. MasterSoft has submitted these two specifications to, the Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards (OASIS), for moving them into open industry standards."

"We are working on improving these DTDs in order to make them useful for a wide variety of applications. We welcome your feedback on these DTDs and all the feedbacks that we receive will be considered seriously to improve the DTDs. Our objective is to make these DTDs as industry standards. These two XML applications have now been published in XML.ORG and we are closely working with OASIS to make these languages as vendor neutral open industry standards. . . "
