XML Specification in French Translation

Date: Tue, 2 Feb 1999 14:00:04 +0100
From: Michel Goossens <Michel.Goossens@CERN.CH>

Subject: DTD, Style sheet, etc for XML Spec

A group of volunteers in Canada, France, and Switzerland is preparing a translation of the XML Specification. As we would like to re-use the source in various forms (to generate HTML, LaTeX, amongst others) is it possible to tell us where the "official" version of the DTD is, and whether a DSSSL (or even better XSL) style sheet exists to transform it into the "standard" HTML format that is posted on the Web at the W3 site.

[Note: Earlier, Michel Goossens (Président GUTenberg) posted an open invitation for assistance in the creation of a French translation of the XML 1.0 Specification and of Peter Flynn's XML FAQ document. Alternately, if any readers are aware of the availability of such a translation already, or of a similar initiative, please communicate with Goossens about it so as to avoid duplication of efforts.]

[Note: For references to German, Italian, and Romanian translations of the XML specification, see the XML Reference Documents section.]
