New and Updated XML Tools from IBM

[May 07, 1999. IBM XML Xtra.]

IBM LAUNCHES XCENTRAL: INTERNET'S FIRST XML SEARCH ENGINE

     http://www.software.ibm.com/xml/news/news61.html

IBM announced xCentral at XML '99 Europe in Granada, Spain. It is the Internet's first search engine designed to look exclusively for Extensible Markup Language (XML) information on the Web, such as XML documents, document type declarations (DTDs), style-sheets, press releases, tutorials, Web pages and bulletin board postings. XML enables programmers and customers faster product development cycles, improves time to market, and expands networking and marketplace opportunities by leveraging existing resources of the online XML community. xCentral is a new feature available today on IBM's XML Web site at http://www.ibm.com/xml

DOWNLOAD!: XML SECURITY SUITE

     http://www.alphaworks.ibm.com/tech/xmlsecuritysuite

The XML Security Suite consists of reference implementations of XML-based security solutions. This technology can further enhance XML-related Internet transactions by building upon and extending the capabilities of current security technologies, such as Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) by introducing new security features such as digital signature, element-wise encryption and access control.

DOWNLOAD!: XML PARSER FOR C++

     http://www.alphaworks.ibm.com/tech/xml4c

IBM's XML Parser for C++ (XML4C) is a validating XML parser written in a portable subset of C++. XML4C makes it easy to give an application the ability to read and write XML data. A single shared library provides classes for parsing, generating, manipulating, and validating XML documents. XML4C is faithful to the XML 1.0 Recommendation and associated standards (DOM 1.0, SAX 1.0). Source code, samples and API documentation are provided with the parser.

DOWNLOAD!: XML VIEWER

     http://www.alphaworks.ibm.com/tech/xmlviewer

The XML Viewer addresses the need for viewing XML data from various perspectives such as the source of the XML, the DTD for the XML, and the hierarchical structure of the XML data.

UPDATED: XML BEANMAKER

     http://www.alphaWorks.ibm.com/tech/xmlbeanmaker

New version of XML BeanMaker is compatible with XML for Java Parser versions 1.1. It is less restrictive about Not Bean Worthy exceptions, and handles more complex DTD's.

UPDATED: XML EDITORMAKER

     http://www.alphaWorks.ibm.com/tech/xmleditormaker

New version of XML EditorMaker is compatible with the latest XML BeanMaker. It has a new interface built using Swing. GUI handles attributes differently and flattens the frame hierarchy for PCDATA.
