Call for Articles on EAD - Kluwer Academic Publishing
Date: Thu, 14 Jan 1999 14:42:46 -0800 From: Richard Rinehart <rinehart@UCLINK4.BERKELEY.EDU> Subject: Call for Articles/EAD
To EAD implementors and developers,
Archives and Museum Informatics: the cultural heritage quarterly, a peer-reviewed journal published by Kluwer Academic Publishing, will be devoting a special issue entirely to the EAD (Encoded Archival Description standard) to be published in the Fall of 1999. This issue is being guest-edited by Richard Rinehart of the UC Berkeley Art Museum/Pacific Film Archive and Anne Gilliland-Swetland of UCLA's Department of Library & Information Science.
We would like to invite the EAD community to submit articles about your experiences with the EAD in project implementations, development, research, theory, or as a user of EAD-based resources. One emphasis of this issue will be on the cross-community application of the EAD, so we welcome articles from the broad library, archive, academic, and museum communities, as well as articles which are specifically about cross-community projects or issues.
Article abstracts would be due March 1. Article abstracts would need not be formal or long, but should indicate the topic and rough length of the article. Actual article submission deadline would be June 1. Peer review by the Archives and Museum Informatics panel will determine which articles are finally included.
If you have any thoughts, questions, or might be able to recommend a good person or project for inclusion, please contact Richard Rinehart (email@example.com) or Anne Gilliland-Swetland (firstname.lastname@example.org). You may also find out more about the journal at http://www.kap.nl/journalhome.htm/1042-1467.
