Veridocs Announces XMLdocs

Veridocs Announces Beta Release of XMLdocs at XML 2002

Small to Mid-sized Firms to Benefit from Affordable XML Content Management Solution

Beta Release Available Free Through January 2003

Baltimore, MD, USA. December 10, 2002.

Veridocs, a provider of XML software, consulting and development services, today announced the upcoming availability of XMLdocs Beta Release. XMLdocs is a Web-based system for creating powerful, user-friendly XML content management solutions. The Beta Release will be available free at http://my.xmldocs.com. XMLdocs Version 1, slated for release in February 2003, will be available on a hosted basis, an important option for organizations seeking affordable XML content management.

Veridocs made the announcement at the XML Conference and Exhibition 2002 in Baltimore, where Veridocs CEO Nat Dunn presented "XMLdocs: Hosted XML Content Management", on Thursday, December 12, 2002 at 11 a.m., Room 310, Baltimore Convention Center. Live demonstrations of XMLdocs and additional information will also be available at the Veridocs booth (#236) on the exposition floor.

"XML is ideal for most content management challenges. Yet to date, XML solutions have been far too expensive for many companies," says Dunn. 'XMLdocs' subscription-based pricing model and easy-to-use interface makes XML content management affordable -- and useable -- for virtually any organization."

With XMLdocs, organizations can create XML document templates for everything from press releases and product descriptions to knowledge-based articles and help documents. Using these templates, non-technical users write and edit XML documents in XMLdoc's intuitive XML word processor. Documents can then be exported for publication on a Web site or elsewhere through a simple Web Service.

Testimonials

Other XML industry leaders recognize the value that XMLdocs brings to the market:

  • "Through a simple and straightforward Web Service, XMLdocs makes it quick and easy to build XML-based Web sites using ASP.NET," said John Montgomery, group product manager for the Developer and Platform Evangelism Division at Microsoft Corp.

  • "With XMLdocs, Veridocs brings a unique solution to market that makes writing XML documents much more accessible via its Web-based document editor," says Larry Alston, executive vice president of Product Management with eXcelon Corporation, a leading provider of native XML, Java and C++ data management software. "This, combined with the low total cost of ownership of XMLdocs, will result in wider adoption of XML as a standard in business."

  • "XMLdocs meets a need not being met today by the existing content management products," says Alexander Falk, CEO of Altova, manufacturer of xmlspy and other XML tools. "It brings the power of XML content management to small and mid-sized companies."

Document Management: XMLdocs' document management system allows groups of users to store documents in a central location, so there is no need to email documents around or track multiple copies of the same documents.

Collaboration: A shared document repository and check-out/check-in make it simple for groups of users to collaborate on XML documents. Finished documents can easily be exported from the XMLdocs server for publication.
