XMLdocs Version 1 Features 'Template Designer'

Veridocs Announces Availability of XMLdocs Version 1 with New 'Template Designer' Feature

Hosted System Provides Affordable, Easy-to-Use XML Document Authoring and Management

New Template Capabilities Add Even More Flexibility, Customization Options

Boston, MA, USA. March 19, 2003.

Veridocs, a provider of XML software, consulting and development services, today announced the availability XMLdocs Version 1, a hosted XML document authoring and management system.

For the release, Veridocs has added a flexible new "Template Designer" feature not available on the product's Beta Version. XMLdocs Version 1 is available at http://my.xmldocs.com/register. Single users can register to use the system at no cost.

Response to the Beta Version of XMLdocs has been overwhelmingly positive, with more than 1500 organizations registering to test the system in ten weeks. Veridocs CEO Nat Dunn says Version 1's enhanced capabilities and affordable, predictable pricing is already attracting many of these organizations and new customers as well.

"We listened very carefully to feedback from our Beta users, many of whom asked us for a way to create document templates from existing XML schemas," says Dunn. "We've addressed these requests and believe that, feature for feature, XMLdocs Version 1 offers the best value in an XML content system."

Template Designer makes it simple for organizations to create templates from schemas (or use an existing template from XMLdocs as a starting point for a new template) for everything from press releases and product descriptions to knowledge-based articles and help documents. Using these templates, non-technical users write XML documents via the XMLdocs Editor's intuitive, word-processor-like interface. Documents can then be exported for publication on a Web site or elsewhere through a simple Web Service.

"Clearly there is demand for highly productive and easy to use XML tools and services," says Jerry King, director of Business Development for Sonic Stylus Studio. "XMLdocs' unique hosted XML document management system allows users to simply register for an XMLdocs account and immediately start writing XML documents without any upfront integration. XMLdocs document templates are made up of standard XML-based documents such as XML Schemas and XSLTs, which can easily be edited and maintained with Stylus Studio." Sonic Software Corporation is an independent operating company of Progress Software Corporation.

"Accessible XML solutions are an important next step in the widespread adoption of XML," says Frank Gilbane, president and publisher of The Gilbane Report. "Systems like XMLdocs should serve to further promote XML standards across a variety of industries."

Michelle Stopka of Smith, Currie & Hancock LLP says that her firm is excited about using XMLdocs. "We have a need for creating content in XML," she says, "and I have found writing documents in XMLdocs as easy and intuitive as using a word processor."

XMLdocs is priced to be affordable for everyone interested in authoring content in XML. Individual users can register for the product and create a personal workspace for free. Group fees start at $99 per month. For more information on XMLdocs, please visit www.xmldocs.com.
