Registration Open For Premier SyncML Public Event Postponed from September 2001, San Francisco
Scotts Valley, CA, USA. 29-November-2001.
The SyncML Initiative Ltd., the leading open industry standards organization for universal data synchronization, announced today public registration is open for the SyncML 2002 Congress. The September SyncML 2001 Summit in San Francisco was postponed due to the uncertainty regarding business travel after the tragic September 11 terrorist attacks in the US.
SyncML members, key press and analysts, and mobile and wireless leaders will hear the latest from SyncML leadership on topics including the work on the SyncML specification, and on SyncML Device Management (SyncML DM). A Demo Zone will be featured, where member organizations will present SyncML compliant technologies. The agenda covers technical and business presentations from SyncML experts, a Master Class on the technical details of the SyncML specification, as well as in-depth presentations on the SyncML conformance and interoperability certification processes.

"The SyncML 2002 Congress is the best opportunity for mobile and wireless leaders worldwide to connect with the drivers of open standards data synchronization. The postponement of our public event from San Francisco, September 2001 to Amsterdam, January 2002, while necessary as a result of the terrible events of September 11, has not slowed the incredible momentum the SyncML Initiative has been enjoying. We had successful SyncFest events in Texas in April, Finland in July, San Francisco in October, and Japan in November," said Doug Heintzman, chairman of the SyncML Initiative. "We4ve added Openwave and Symbian as Sponsors, and Extended Systems, fusionOne, J-Phone Co. Ltd., Pumatech and Siemens AG as Promoters, and we incorporated the SyncML Initiative as a standalone legal entity."
