XML schema for NCBI data model

Dear Web Editors:
I am pleased to announce the draft of XML schema for NCBI (National Center for Biotechnology Information) data model.
NCBI database supports XML format that was directly translated from its ASN.1 model into DTD. I would expect NCBI adopt XML Schema in next version.
The XML schema presented conforms to NCBI's current DTD version (as of May 2002), taking advantage of new and better features of industry standard. However, in order to make it compatible with status quo, type derivation and substitution capabilities in XML Schema weren't adopted.
The downloadable at http://www.kaiseryang.com/bio/db includes 31 xsd files (one of which is the 'main' to include submodules) and 6 sample xml bio-sequence files. Their syntax has been validated with XSV and BM SQC. The semantics was checked against those six test XML documents.
I would like to solicit comments.
Sincerely,
H. Kaiser Yang
