Ipedo XIP 4.0 Supports SQL/XQuery Dual-Core Query Architecture

Ipedo Releases New Version of Enterprise Information Integration (EII) Platform

Ipedo XIP 4.0 Provides Integration across Broadest Range of Data and Content with New Dual-Core Query Architecture

Redwood City, California, USA. May 16, 2005.

Ipedo, a leading provider of enterprise information integration software, today announced the latest version of its award-winning EII platform, incorporating several important new product enhancements to facilitate delivery of on-demand intelligence. Ipedo XIP 4.0 introduces the industry's first dual SQL/XQuery engine, giving it the broadest span of information integration available. The new release also features several new capabilities designed to reduce the cost and complexity of information integration, including a visual rules processing interface, Web Services publishing, and integration with BusinessObjects and Crystal Reports.

"Business decision-makers need access to up-to-date and complete information," said Nick Zhang, CEO of Ipedo. "Our goal with this release was to provide the most comprehensive coverage of data and content sources, giving our customers a smarter, faster way to deliver critical information to their users."

Ipedo XIP 4.0 introduces a number of new features designed to support the growing needs of EII deployments in the enterprise, including:

  • Dual-Core Query Architecture: The first of its kind, dual SQL and XQuery engines allow for the broadest span of data types, from relational databases to XML documents and Web Services payloads. Part of Ipedo's patented Dual-Core Query Architecture, each engine contains its own optimizer and can invoke the other as needed.

  • Visual Rules Editor: A graphical user interface allows non-technical staff to create rules and actions based on data element values, allowing pre-processing of data flows for quality assurance, alerting, or to invoke more detailed analysis.

  • Business Objects Integration: Support for both BusinessObjects XI and Crystal Reports XI allows data federated by Ipedo to be made directly available in reports or analyses. Ipedo XIP appears as a single source, so organizations can easily add new integrated information directly into their existing environment without the expense of new development or user re-training.

  • Web Services Publish: Support for publishing integrated views of data as a Web Service, allowing organizations to leverage EII in their Service Oriented Architectures (SOA). The capability can be accessed directly using popular developer tools, including Microsoft Visual Studio and the Eclipse Web Tools Platform.

In all, Ipedo XIP 4.0 has over 50 new additions and improvements, including enhanced query optimization techniques, new data source discovery and mapping capabilities, and new visual wizards for data import.

"Ipedo has helped us easily integrate data from our best of breed policy administration, rating, claims, and billing systems, even though they are spread across different architectures and databases," said Steven Addair, Vice President of Information Technology at American Reliable Insurance Company (ARIC), a division of Assurant Solutions. "Their ability to manage data in the insurance industry's standard ACORD schema, and the flexibility to work within our new service-oriented architecture (SOA), were the primary reasons we went with Ipedo. We believe this technology will provide ARIC and our agency partners a major competitive advantage in the specialty lines insurance marketplace."

Ipedo XIP leverages SQL and XML Query to integrate and manage information from disparate, complex data sources to enable real-time business decisions. Ipedo's novel approach treats existing corporate databases and external data flows as a single, virtual data source. This allows users to gain customized access to the information they need, in a context that makes sense, all while leveraging existing IT investments.

Pricing and Availability

Ipedo XIP 4.0 is available now for Windows 2000, Windows NT, Sun Solaris, Red Hat Linux and SuSE Linux. Pricing is on a per-CPU basis.
