Chinese NewsML

Subject:   What is going on about Chinese NewsML?

The Chinese University of Hong Kong has set up a Chinese NewsML Community (http://cintec.cuhk.edu.hk/cnewsml/) to help promoting the adoption of NewsML and the associated XML-based technologies among the news and media industry in Greater China Region. Recently, we have developed some application prototypes and supporting tools, for processing Chinese NewsML documents in particular.

Although the IPTC Subject Code has been translated into many different languages, no official Chinese translation is available so far. In fact, we have been considering that our project team, together with other interested parties, might participate in the Chinese translation process, probably right after the next release of IPTC Subject Code (English) in July, where substantial changes is expected.
