Announcing OASIS Blue Member Section

Billerica, MA, USA. September 24, 2009

We are pleased to announce the formation of the OASIS Blue Member Section. This new group within OASIS will work to advance open standards for smart energy grids, intelligent buildings, and other areas related to sustainability. See more about this Member Section at:

OASIS Blue Technical Committees will capitalize on, profile, and extend existing electronic commerce and data exchange standards. They will also advance needed taxonomies for natural resources and networked devices and articulate best practices for facilitation of smart economic development and smart energy.

Technical Committees that are expected to affiliate with OASIS Blue include the existing Energy Interoperation TC, the Energy Market Information Exchange (eMIX) TC, and the OASIS Open Building Information Exchange (oBIX) TC. OASIS Blue also welcomes suggestions for forming new Committees in this arena.

OASIS Members wishing to support OASIS Blue should have their Primary Representatives notify member-services@oasis-open.org via email. There is no additional cost to affiliate with OASIS Blue and no dues allocations will be made for this Member Section. Organizations that affiliate with OASIS Blue will be eligible to serve on and vote for the Member Section Steering Committee and will be recognized on the Member Section web site.

The OASIS Blue MS Steering Committee will consist of nine members with staggered terms so that five (5) expire one year and the other four (4) expire the next. The initial OASIS Blue Steering Committee includes seven members identified in the Rules of Procedure (RoP). Two additional seats will be filled by election in three months.
