I am happy to announce the final release of SAX2/Java. SAX2 extends SAX1 by adding support for Namespaces, for filter chains, and for querying and setting features and properties. You can download SAX2/Java from
Thanks to the members of XML-Dev for all of your help in developing SAX2/Java. It was difficult -- much harder than SAX1 -- because demands and expectations were so much higher. When I have a chance to recover a bit, I'll try to update the credits, but I wanted to start by thanking everyone as a group.
There is a great need for a single SAX API for C++, and I plan to help out with that. When SAX2/C++ is released, it is my intention to find a new person or organization to take over the maintenance of SAX.
For the records, the final version of SAX1 was released on May 11, 1998, and development started in January 1998.
All the best,
David
