dbXML Core Edition 0.3 released

The dbXML Group is proud to announce the release of version 0.3 of the source code for the dbXML Core Edition.

The dbXML Core Edition is the worlds first Open Source native XML database application server. It is a data management system designed specifically for collections of XML documents and is easily embedded into existing applications, highly configurable, and openly extensible. The source code has been released under the GNU Lesser General Public License and is available at the dbXML Group's Core Edition web page http://www.dbxmlgroup.com/core.html.

This release updates the dbXML distribution adding many new features.

  • Initial Compressed DOM implementation.
  • Basic indexing system.
  • Server side auto-linking of database resources.
  • Experimental support for XPath querying.
  • XML Schema Compiler.
  • SOAP Support - All dbXML XMLObjects, Procedures and stored documents are automatically exposed by the server as SOAP services.
  • Command line administration tools.
  • Better documentation and examples.
