XML-Based Security Services Technical Committee

Date: Mon, 27 Nov 2000 15:55:11 -0500
From: Karl Best <karl.best@oasis-open.org>
To: tc-announce@lists.oasis-open.org, members@lists.oasis-open.org
Subject: OASIS TC call for participation: Security Services

OASIS members:

A new OASIS technical committee is being formed. The XML-Based Security Services Technical Committee has been proposed by Marc Chanliau, Netegrity; Eve Maler, Sun Microsystems; Dave Hofert, Sun Microsystems; David Orchard, JamCracker; and Prateek Mishra, Netegrity.

The request for a new TC meets the requirements of the OASIS TC process, and is attached below. The purpose and goals of the committee are below.

To become a member of this new TC you must notify Marc Chanliau, the committee chair, of your interest at least 15 days prior to the first meeting and then you must participate in the first meeting on January 9, 2000. For the procedure for joining after the first meeting see the TC process at http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/process.shtml.

I have created a mail list, security-services, for the committee discussions. OASIS members who are interested in participating in this committee should subscribe to the security-services list by sending a message to security-services-request@lists.oasis-open.org with the word "subscribe" as the body of the message. (Note that subscribing to the mail list does not make you a member of the TC; to become a member you must contact the TC chair as described in the preceeding paragraph.)
