UN/CEFACT Releases ebXML Core Component Technical Specification for
Second Public Review.
The 'UN/CEFACT - ebXML Core Component Technical Specification' Version
1.85 has been released for Public Review through 22-November-2002. The
solution described in the specification presents a methodology for
developing a common set of semantic building blocks that represent the
general types of business data in use today and provides for the
creation of new business vocabularies and restructuring of existing
business vocabularies.

IBM alphaWorks Releases UDDI Registry Extensions.
An IBM alphaWorks team has released extensions that enhance the IBM
WebSphere UDDI Registry (v 1.1.1) with advanced search capabilities.
These UDDI Registry Extensions provide additional search capabilities
that enable the formation of complex queries comprising search
criteria from two standard UDDI 'find' APIs. The extensions make the
Registry easier to use; they also reduce network bandwidth usage and
improve performance.

US Internal Revenue Service Establishes Online XML Developers' Forum
for Employment Tax E-file System.
The IRS has set up a "94x XML Developers' Forum" to provide
information and technical guidance for software developers interested
in developing software for the new Employment Tax e-file System in
XML. The website provides links to relevant XML Schemas, technical
documents, and announcements. The new XML based system covers 940/941
filing. An associated US Fed/State Employment Tax XML Forum supplies
related state level XML schemas.

STARLab Object Role Modeling Markup Language (ORM-ML) Represents ORM
Models in XML.
A research team at STARLab (Vrije Universiteit Brussel) has developed
an Object Role Modeling markup language (ORM-ML) for representing ORM
models in XML based syntax. Stylesheets convert this ORM-ML syntax
into other syntaxes for processing by business rule engines. A
verbalization style sheet for ORM-ML documents supports the expression
of facts and the rules in pseudo natural language sentences for
validation by domain specialists.
