Readers of this list who have wondered, from time to time, just how many
people are actively using the TEI encoding scheme in their work, and who
they are -- certainly I have -- may be pleased to learn that they can
now find a partial answer to these questions on the TEI Web page.

The TEI Applications Page, at

    http://www-tei.uic.edu/orgs/tei/app

currently includes information on over fifty projects which report that
they use TEI for all or some of their text encoding.  The page has brief
descriptions, contact information, acknowledgements of funding sources,
and links to the projects' own home pages.

If you are using TEI and your project is not listed, please let us
know, and send us the information we need to get you on the list where
you belong.

We have made extensive efforts to confirm that the information included
about the projects is accurate and up-to-date.  If we've slipped,
however, and your project's description is in need of corrections,
please contact me by email at tei@uic.edu, or Wendy Plotkin at
U49127@uicvm.uic.edu.

The TEI Web Page itself has, I think, never been formally mentioned on
this list, first because it was still experimental, and then because we
were busy, and then because it wasn't new any more.  But if you have not
yet seen it, the Applications Page makes a nice excuse for browsing
around it a bit.  If you have suggestions for improving it, let us know.

Many thanks to Wendy Plotkin and Lou Burnard, who have done the lion's
share of the work on this.
