If you haven't been to the Consortium web site recently--as in the last
week--you may be surprised by what awaits you at www.sgmlopen.org. The newly
designed SGML Open home page features a cleaner, more contemporary design
that's a lot easier to load and navigate. It now reflects members'
involvement with XML, while remaining a resource of first choice for
information on SGML.
Keep in mind, www.sgmlopen.org remains a work in progress. An online version
of the SGML Open newsletter is still in the works, as well as an interactive,
"Everything SGML" directory that includes descriptions of members'
products/services by
category. The Consortium is also very concerned with the issue of
accessibility and is working on ways to use the site to demonstrate the power
of **having** SGML to achieve accessiblity.
InterX.org, the Consortium's dedicated XML web site, is also under development.
Please revisit www.sgmlopen.org soon--and feel free to let us know what you
think of the new design by emailing info@sgmlopen.org.
