Intraware Selected by Bluestone Software as Primary Web-Based Channel Provider for XML Suite

Special Introductory Promotion Offered through April 30, 1999

ORINDA, Calif. and MOUNT LAUREL, N.J. - (March 29, 1999) - Intraware, Inc. (NASDAQ: ITRA - news), a full-service web-based software management services company, and Bluestone® Software, Inc., the leader in Enterprise Interaction Management, today announced the companies have expanded their existing partnership, whereby Intraware will provide primary web-based software services for Bluestone XML Suite™, comprising Bluestone XML-Server™, Bluestone Visual-XML™, and XwingML™.

Being first to market with a dynamic XML server, Bluestone developed Bluestone XML Suite to enable developers to quickly and easily create and deploy e-commerce, electronic data interchange, application integration, and supply chain management applications. To introduce the product suite to its member base, Intraware is offering a special introductory price of $995 per single license until April 30, 1999. The offer includes Bluestone XML-Server, a free copy of Bluestone XML-Server Interactive Distance Learning, Bluestone Visual-XML Database Publishing Wizard, XML Editor, Java Code Editor, SQL Editor, and DTD Editor. The introductory offer also includes a coupon that will be redeemable for a full copy of Bluestone Visual-XML that will be generally available in May, 1999. Beginning May 1, Bluestone XML Suite will be priced at $2,995 for Bluestone XML-Server and $99 for Bluestone Visual-XML.

As a result of today's announcement, Bluestone will leverage Intraware's web-based product research, electronic software purchase and delivery, and software management services to streamline customers' technology assessment efforts and accelerate product sales. At the same time, Intraware will benefit from today's partnership by expanding the number of products carried through its Web Development product category with the addition of Bluestone's leading-edge XML products.

"Bluestone is one of the key players defining the XML movement -- which is why today's partnership is so important to Intraware," said Peter Jackson, president and CEO of Intraware. "By adding the Bluestone XML Suite to intraware.shop's Web Development product category, we're offering the growing worldwide developer community another breakthrough technology through our unique online software procurement and delivery services."

"Because of the considerable interest our XML suite has generated this year, it's become clear that the XML development community is growing to global proportions," added John Capobianco, senior vice president of marketing at Bluestone. "In order to reach this fast growing worldwide market, we have chosen a channel and software management partner who can help the development community to quickly and easily evaluate, purchase, and update our product line from anywhere in the world, any time of day. Intraware is uniquely qualified to meet these requirements."

Bluestone's XwingML, and commercial Bluestone XML-Server products are available immediately through intraware.shop. The Bluestone Visual-XML developer toolkit will be available in May. Customers that download the freeware XwingML platform automatically qualify for all Intraware Standard Membership benefits

Bluestone XML Suite

Bluestone XML-Server is the first generally available dynamic XML server, defined as the middle-tier link that integrates legacy and new age data sources with XML documents. Companies that want to take advantage of business-to-business and application-to-application communication will find the Bluestone XML-Server to be a very cost-effective way to expand or replace their EDI implementations.

Bluestone Visual-XML is a developer toolkit that helps companies build XML-based applications. It automatically generates document type definitions (DTDs) and XML documents based on data sources and binds XML documents to data sources, all through graphical drag and drop programming that generates pure Java and pure XML code.

Bluestone's XwingML is a public domain contribution from Bluestone labs that accelerates the learning curve for early adoptors of XML/Java tools. It is an innovative development platform for merging XML and Java code, and allows users to create, in common English, XML documents that generate Java graphical user interfaces without the user writing Java code.

Intraware Services

Customers will be able to research, interactively demonstrate, purchase and electronically download the entire Bluestone XML Suite from the intraware.shop service. In addition, the Intraware SubscribNet service offers customers proactive software update management, on-demand software downloads, and license renewals available via a personalized, password protected Website. Each of these services is available to IT professionals worldwide on a 24 x 7 basis.
