Hynet Technologies Joins Oasis

Hynet Continues Advancing Their Strategic Use of XML Technology in Publishing

MOUNTAIN VIEW, California. April 22, 1999.

Hynet Technologies Inc., developer of a dynamic electronic publishing solution that combines document management technology with unique electronic publishing capabilities, today announced they are now a member of OASIS. OASIS is the Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards, a nonprofit, international consortium dedicated to accelerating the adoption of product-independent formats based on public standards.

Daniel Chang, President of Hynet Technologies says that "joining OASIS shows Hynet's continued advance towards leadership in the XML publishing market." Further, Daniel states, "With Hynet Directive 2.1 now shipping, we are ready to intensify our marketing effort and joining OASIS is only one of the moves we are making in that direction."

Hynet Technologies is further honing their market leadership approach by focusing on solutions aimed at the Finance, High-Technology Manufacturing and Semiconductor market segments. Chang added, "Hynet's strategic use of XML adds tremendous value to all three of these segments by solving unique problems." He states, "In Finance, information is the currency of tomorrow and our solution allows companies to trade in that currency today." Hynet's installation at Standard & Poor's already shows how this value proposition pays dividends.

Hynet Technologies has been using XML to further the publishing of legacy information from Word and FrameMaker documents for over 2 years. Hynet not only believes in and supports the activities of OASIS, Hynet actually takes the XML concept even further by adding more intelligence to the component level units of data. This is what Hynet Technologies calls IU-IQ, or Information Unit Intelligence. The Information Units are the individual components of data that come out from the Directive product, by making them into the finest level of granularity possible, Hynet delivers more value.
