NORWELL, MA. February 8, 1999.
CAP Ventures' popular 6-year-old newsletter, The Gilbane Report, will now be published monthly with double issues in July/August and November/December. It was previously a bi-monthly publication. The Report will now be available to subscribers on the Web, as well as in paper form, and sports an updated format that includes an optional e-mail news service. The Gilbane Report is published by CAP Ventures, a leading research and consultant company, and is a service of its Dynamic Content Software Strategies (DSS) Consulting Service.
"The world has changed since we started the Gilbane Report in 1993," said Frank Gilbane, Editorial Director. "Back then it was possible to keep up with the topics we covered in a bi-monthly publication. The web and its associated technologies and standards now ensure that someone in every IS/IT organization needs to understand the areas we cover. Our increased frequency and coverage will meet their need."
The Gilbane Report on Open Information & Document Systems helps IS and IT planners understand the impact of document computing technologies on their IT infrastructures and business applications. Each issue of the report includes critical analysis as well as relevant news summaries. Some of the topics that have been covered in the Gilbane Report are: data and document application interoperability, document and content management, document query languages and search technology, XML and other markup languages, style sheets, formatting technologies and standards, document architectures and standards such as the W3C Document Object Model (DOM), Web authoring, object technologies and databases.
"The Gilbane Report is unique in that it focuses squarely on the practice of document computing and content management," said Tim Bray, Editor. "There is no other source where IS and IT managers can get commentary on this area that is not only unbiased (we take no advertising), but that also avoids skeptical and sometimes critical assessments of industry trends."
The subscription price in the U.S. and Canada is $395 (U.S.) and $430 overseas. Current subscribers can renew subscriptions at existing rates until July 1, 1999. For further information visit www.capv.com/dss/gilbane.htm.
