OASIS Expands European Member Support
Pam Gennusa to Represent XML Consortium from London Office
London, England. October 6, 1999.
OASIS, the Organization for Structured Information Standards, today announced plans to increase its European member support by establishing representation in London. The international XML consortium has retained well-known industry expert, Pam Gennusa, to expand OASIS' presence and enhance services to Consortium members in Europe.
Gennusa, best known for her roles as conference chair of XML Europe and former director of DPSL, will support OASIS members based in Europe, including Reuters Ltd., Software AG and STEP, and the European offices of OASIS members based in other parts of the world. Gennusa will also work to grow membership in the Consortium, which is gaining increased recognition for its industry portal, XML.org.
"As a European member of the first OASIS board of directors, I know that providing support for our members in Europe has always been important. I'm pleased to be able to contribute directly to the increased services that OASIS is now providing," said Gennusa. "It's a very exciting time to be representing OASIS, with the growth of our technical agenda, especially XML.org."
Laura Walker, executive director of OASIS, added, "Not only will Pam increase visibility for the Consortium in Europe, she'll also facilitate the contributions of our European member to the technical work of OASIS. Their input is extremely important to the international scope of the Consortium."
