INTRODUCTION
This workshop is the first public event of XML Italia, an open group along
the lines of Internet's technical groups, and formed by technicians,
researchers, operators and vendors interested in connecting and aggregating
the competences in Italy on XML, its tools and its applications.
The workshop, hosted by the University of Bologna and organized by the XML
Italia group, is meant to present some significant Italian activities in
research and use of XML technologies.
Participation to the workshop is free of charge but it requires
registration. The official language of the workshop is Italian.

USEFUL INFORMATION
It is necessary to register to the Workshop by sending an e-mail message to
xmlit99@xml.it or a fax to +39-02-76110227, specifying name, e-mail address
and affiliation (if relevant). Registrations will be accepted on a
first-come-first-serve basis and depending on availability. The registration
will be confirmed by the workshop organization.

The group XML Italia is structured as an open workgroup, basing its
procedures along the lines of the technical groups of Internet.
Participation to the activities of the group is open, and the work is done
in group meetings and through group communication via e-mail. There esist a
WWW site and two mailing list for this purpose:

* The mailing list xml@xml.it, open to all, devoted to the discussion of any
aspect of XML and related languages, and to the circulation of news on the
activitis of the group XML Italia. To subscribe go to the URL
http://listserv.xml.it/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=xml&A=1 or send an e-mail message
to  listserv@xml.it specifying, in the body of the message, the text
'subscribe xml indirizzo di e-mail'. The mailing list is archived and it is
available at http://listserv.xml.it/xml.html.

* The mailing list org@xml.it, reserved to those taking part to the
organizational meetings of the group. Participation to the meeting is open
to anyone.
