XML Europe 2002 Conference and Exposition Brings Real-World Applications and Solutions to IT Professionals
Experts From Around the Globe Gather in Barcelona to Explore This Year's Theme, "Down to Business: Getting Serious About XML"
Alexandria, VA, USA February 28, 2002.
IDEAlliance announces its annual XML Europe Conference and Exposition, being held this year, 20-23 May 2002, at the Princesa Sofia-Intercontinental, in Barcelona, Spain.
The four-day conference will provide participants with plenary sessions, conference tracks broken down into specific topic areas, detailed tutorials, as well as a variety of informal business receptions, discussion groups and social events. Conference highlights will include keynote addresses from the leaders of XML technology and related Web-based standards.
Presenters from more than 15 nations will deliver peer-reviewed technical papers before an audience of more than 1,000 IT professionals from the European community and beyond, including applications engineers, chief information officers, directors of e-business, project managers and team leaders from Fortune 1000 corporations, government agencies and nonprofit organizations.
The Exposition floor will feature vendors from Europe, North America, and Asia. More than 50 providers of software, systems and solutions are slated to showcase their latest innovations this May at the Barcelona venue. Last year's event drew over 1,000 attendees, and this year's event promises to be just as well attended.
"This is an exceptional opportunity for IT professionals to really get down to business and decide how XML can be used effectively in their organization today," says Edd Dumbill, Editor of XML.com and Conference Chair of this year's XML Europe event. "Participants will discover dozens of important, new XML-based products and services, take part in hands-on demonstrations, and really get serious about XML, as this year's theme suggests."
"This year's event represents one of the strongest technical programs we've ever offered," says David Steinhardt, president and CEO of IDEAlliance. "The presenters are experts from the cutting-edge of XML, around the world. Participants will have the chance both to learn from XML's leading lights and express their own views and concerns -- all in a vibrant, dynamic setting."
Participants can register for XML Europe 2002 online by visiting www.xmleurope.com. Discounts are available for academics and members of organizations affiliated with IDEAlliance. See website for details.
