DNF Release 1 product data specification 
May 2001 release

 
This set of documents is the data specification of the DNF Release 1 product 
(scheduled for November 2001), and of test data available before DNF 
Release 1.  Previous versions of this specification have had 'draft' status: this 
is the published version.  Some minor changes may be required to this 
specification before DNF Release 1, but these will be kept to a minimum.

This specification consists of the following PDF documents:

Classification and attributes of DNF features
DNF themes
Lifecycles of DNF features
DNF geometry and topology
DNF data in GML
DNF glossary

and the following XML schema documents:

OSDNFFeatures
OSGeometryTopology
OSQueryResult
OSSimpleTypes

The Specification Overview provides an introduction to DNF and links within 
this document will lead the reader to each of the other documents with in the 
specification.  It provides a good starting point for users who are new to DNF.

This set of documents does not provide all the information a DNF user might 
need.  Prior to DNF Release 1 in November 2001, further documents will be 
published, covering at least the following:
?	DNF data quality statements
?	Catalogue of DNF features
?	DNF feature topological structuring rules
?	DNF cartographic style guide including symbols
