Blue Titan Announces Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) Fabric
Blue Titan Advances Industry's First Enterprise SOA Fabric
Network Director 2.5 Delivers Increased Scalability and Extensibility
San Francisco, California, USA. December 09, 2003.
Blue Titan Software, Inc. today announced the immediate availability of Network Director 2.5, the industry's first and only enterprise service-oriented architecture (SOA) Fabric. Network Director 2.5 introduces significant improvements in scalability and extensibility validated directly from numerous real-world Fortune 500 customer deployments.
Network Director 2.5 is the first and only enterprise SOA Fabric that provides a unified control layer, bringing security, reliability and manageability to Web service-based interactions and enabling enterprises to realize the true value of Web services. Network Director 2.5 allows users to define, enforce and adapt consistent enterprise-wide infrastructure policies in a distributed, non-invasive approach.
"Service-oriented architectures represent a rapidly emerging infrastructure software solution for companies with real integration plans," said Bill Robins, principal at The Stencil Group. "Smart Fortune 500 companies are partnering with vendors who have mature SOA offerings, and have experience bringing SOAs to scale, thereby ensuring a solid return on this strategic investment."
New Levels of Scalability and Extensibility
Network Director 2.5 meets the growing scalability requirements of large enterprise customers. Network Director 2.5 now delivers:
Proven scalability up to 2,000 messages per second and beyond in a distributed deployment using only commodity-based Linux hardware
Throughput throttled and increased with zero administrative effort in configuration or deployment
Deployment across multiple network topologies and line of business boundaries in a geographically transparent manner.
Network Director 2.5's unparalleled extensibility is already helping customers create adaptable Enterprise SOAs:
Using Blue Titan's extensible policy framework, a customer created and deployed a highly customized service-based, priority access policy based on real-time network availability that is re-useable for any service across the SOA Fabric.
One customer met their immediate need to address Web services security concerns while simultaneously scaling out an Enterprise SOA by integrating a best-in-class XML firewall into their Blue Titan Fabric as a third party security policy implementer, effectively creating a secure SOAP channel.
Two Fortune 100 customers created custom management and visibility applications using Blue Titan Fabric services. These projects each took less than two weeks, demonstrating the ease of leveraging Fabric services; and enabling customers to avoid creating silos of critical operational metadata within proprietary management consoles.
"Network Director 2.5 furthers our commitment to delivering a scalable and extensible SOA Fabric," said Frank Martinez, CTO and chairman of Blue Titan. "One thing we've learned is that customers don't want vendors that pile on more and more features they cannot use. Our customers use Network Director to realize Enterprise SOAs at scale that consistently work across all of their systems -- regardless of tooling, platform, control boundary, or geography."
